CAMILLA WELLS unveils new single and video “LULLABY”
From Thursday 2 December, “LULLABY” (BRX Records), the new single by the young Italian alternative pop-rock singer-songwriter Camilla Wells, is on the radio and available on all platforms for streaming and digital download (https://smarturl.it/CWLullaby).
After having walked the streets of solitude with “LONELY” and having gone deep into the abyss of pain with “BONES”, Camilla is back to explore the darkest and the most tormented sides of the human soul so as to face her fears in this new song.
«Fears can kill you every day. They are silent partners; many-headed monsters. They’re wars that generate wars –Explains the singer – In“Lullaby”I face them head-on, one by one. Because music is a therapy and“Lullaby”is my scream: it’s a storm of sounds to tell myself they’re just fears and I can get rid of them».
“Lullaby”, a scratchy and visceral track shaped on an alternative rock sound inspired by the 90s, is written by Camilla Wells and VincenzoDel Corno, who’s a co-author of the song and took part in the production aspect entrusted to Marco Barusso (Pooh, Enrico Ruggeri, Lacuna Coil).
The official music video directed by Lù Magarò and Gabriele Zanoncelli, and featuring an all-female cast, condenses the meaning of the song in a kind of horror story full of symbolism.The directors describe Camilla as she runs in terror blindfolded, accompanied by Valentina, her bolder alter ego. The two young women desperately try to escape from a group of zombie girls, who represent the darkest fears of the protagonist. WhenValentina is captured by the zombies, Camilla finally decides to take her blindfold off and to proudly face her own insecurities alone.
About Camilla Wells
CamillaWells, stage name of Camilla Pozzi, was born in Segrate (Lombardy) in 1994 and grew up in the province of Pavia, where she still lives. After high school she began taking voice lessons and she sang in several bands, with which she could express her varied musical influences, ranging from genres, rap, nu-metal, black music and soul. In 2017, Camilla joined the prog-rock band Unreal City as background vocalist and took part in their album “FrammentiNotturni”.The promotional tour allowed her to play in Italy, England, Japan andSouth Korea. In 2018, when the experience with Unreal City ended, she began working on her project Camilla Wells, in collaboration withVincenzo Del Corno; she also continued her vocal studies at N.A.M.,in Milan.InNovember 2020 Camilla released her first single Lonely, produced by Marco Barusso and VincenzoDel Corno. The song received excellent reception from audiences and critics, and it was played on the popular Discovery Channel’s television program“Cortesie per gli ospiti”.In June 2021, Camilla released her second single“Bones”, renewing the collaboration with Marco Barusso and VincenzoDel Corno.The song had large amounts of radio play both in Italy and abroad. On2 December 2021, the third single “Lullaby”was released.
