Singer, Songwriter, and Actress Jeannie Ortega is a New York native that signed her first major record deal with the Disney subsidiary, Hollywood Records at the age of 16.
Ortega spent several years on the pop Radio circuit, Her first single, “Crowded,” Co-written by Stargate and the singer, yielded a top 25 single on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and was certified Gold on radio airplay, being heard by over 250 million people. Her debut album “No Place Like Brooklyn” (2006) debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart. Ortega spent the summer of 2006 as the opening act for international pop star Rihanna on her nationwide tour.
Along with her pop music career success, the multi-talented Ortega entered a second career as an actress, Ortega has appeared on the ABC soap opera “One Life to Live,” the teen romantic drama “Step Up,” and landed her first major acting role alongside Mack Wilds in the indie film “Indelible,” scheduled for release next year.
After attaining her childhood dream of becoming successful in the pop arena, Ortega had a life changing divine encouter. The young singer then made the decison to use her gifts to build the Kingdom of God.
In the fall of 2010, she was showcased on the number one Christian cable network, TBN. Ortega shared her touching life story, transformation in God, and performed her original music.
Since her Hollywood success, Ortega has garnered acclaim as a talented Songwriter/Vocal Producer. Her independently released inspirational sophomore album “Perfect Love” released in 2012, was met with much praise from her pop fans who followed her on her new journey of faith. The singer has since been featured, multiple times on TBN’s international show, Praise the Lord and continues to tour Christian venues and churches all throughout the United States, sharing her music and life changing testimony.
Ortega currently has a charting song on the Praise & Arrows soundtrack inspired by the book series “Lions of War” by Cliff Graham. She is gearing up to release her first Christian full-length studio album Later this year.
