Writing since the age of 9, Serena Richardson, aka ‘WisdomSOUL’ or ‘Wisdom’, performed her first piece in 1997, gaining her the title “Diva” for her poetic style. Wisdom recognizes her purpose as a gift from God to deliver messages of positivity; her charge, to speak words that bear truth; her mission being “To heal the world, One Soul, One Mind, One Mic at a time.”
Deemed “The Godmother of Phoenix Poetry” and “Ultimate Host,’ Wisdom is one of Arizona’s first Urban Performance Poets, who has hosted, featured and organized numerous poetry venues and Hip Hop shows; including her own online radio show called “The VYBe” on Radiosupa.com which is a spin off from her original open mic show, “The VYBe” in the thriving Phoenix downtown area in addition to being instrumental in organizing and hosting Arizona’s first All-Female Hip Hop Showcase and winning her a the title of “Best Underground Hip Hop Host 2011” by Phoenix New Times.
Her credits range from hosting, to performances in High Schools, Colleges and Universities to on stage opening for top artists like Kurtis Blow, KRS ONE, Erykah Badu, Lupe Fiasco, Dwele, Bilal, and Jazz Artist Marion Meadows to independent film credit for her appearance in “The Oracle“, Alexis films. Her portrayal of her own poetic works, as well as those of world-renowned poets in several theater stage plays by “Black Poet Ventures Poeticductions,” namely, “Echo Verses” and “If I Could Change the World”, as well as her debut as Director for “Soft & Wet”, and Television pilot program for ABC 15 “Truth or False” aired August of 2013. Wisdom has also shared the stage with several top entertainment industry Actresses in Eve Enslers “Vagina Monologues”, directed by Vanessa Williams of HBO’s Soul Food Series. Wisdom considers her greatest accomplishment so far was opening for the 2013 Arizona Jazz Festival for Will Downing and Jill Scott.
